Study on Combining Durvalumab and Histotripsy for Treating Advanced Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma
Sponsor: University of Wisconsin, Madison
ClinicalTrials ID:NCT07766187
This clinical trial is exploring whether adding a non-invasive treatment called histotripsy to the immunotherapy drug durvalumab can boost the immune response and is safe for patients with advanced intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, a type of liver cancer.

Program Overview
The aim of this study is to see if combining a non-invasive treatment called histotripsy with the immunotherapy drug durvalumab can enhance the immune system's response and is safe for patients with advanced intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA). Histotripsy uses focused ultrasound energy to break down tumor tissue without surgery or heat. The study will include 12 participants.
Description
This study is in its early stages and aims to see if combining histotripsy with durvalumab can safely increase the immune system's activity against cancer. Researchers will also look at how effective this combination is in controlling the cancer and any side effects it might cause. They will also explore if the treatment affects other tumors not directly targeted by histotripsy and will analyze blood samples to study immune markers and tumor DNA.
